Audio Description Training for Visual Artists
Presented by Art-Reach and Da Vinci Art Alliance
Sunday, September 13th, 12pm - 5pm, $10, Zoom.
*Limited to 15 participants, must be a registered DVAA Member
Art-Reach is partnering with DVAA to host a workshop to train our visual artist members on Audio Description. Audio Description involves communicating visual images of various art forms for people who are blind or have low vision. It is a narration service that describes experiences, objects and art with as little interpretation as possible. Through this workshop you will begin to see art from a new perspective, while learning the necessary tools to audio describe cultural experiences for those who are blind or have low vision.
Two artists from this training will have the opportunity to audio describe one of the exhibitions as part of Da Vinci Fest Live.
About the Facilitator:
Audio Describer Nicole Sardella will lead this interactive training. Nicole is the dedicated Audio Describer for Broadway Philadelphia, Shubert Organization-Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Flower Show. Nicole has crafted and curated a practical audio description training based on her experience and guided by best practices in audio description.
