Art as Spirituality
About the program:
Critical Theory Discourse is a conversational gathering that allows DVAA members to tackle challenging works of art theory and history together. Each month, we discuss a new topic based on a new reading, podcast, or video that is distributed by DVAA in advance of the program. Critical Theory is meant to foster challenging dialogue about the art world and its context. All DVAA Members are welcome!
About this event:
This September's Critical Theory will read two writings by Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto: Art as Spirituality from his book The Third Paradise and his 1994 manifesto, “Progetto Arte”. Both writings outline Pistoletto's call for responsible social change and his pursuit to unite the arts, the sciences, economics, spirituality, and politics for the common good.
How to Participate:
Due to enforced social distancing, Critical Theory is going digital! To maintain the safety of our Members and staff, we will be hosting a ZOOM conference instead of an in-person discussion.
To participate in the digital program: register for the event, read the text, and then join the discussion on ZOOM!
