Programs that need your help!

Everyday Futures Fest - Program Ambassadors

Throughout the month of April, DVAA host the Everyday Futures Fest. The festival consists of a series of 50+ family-friendly programs which include exhibitions, workshops, tours, panel discussions, interactive experiences, and more. The programs are hosted with partnering organizations in almost every zip code of Philadelphia, making it difficult for DVAA staff to make it to every event. Program Ambassadors are needed to represent the DVAA community at satellite events, help distribute printed materials, and assist our partnering orgs as needed.

The Everyday Futures Fest Block Party

Each year The Everyday Futures Fest culminates in a block party on the 700 block of Catharine St. In collaboration with dozens of local artists, organizations, and businesses, the Block Party will encompass performances, art and science activities, workstations, tabling vendors, and exhibitions. Volunteers are needed to help set up tables, greet attendees, distribute printed materials, make sure the block stays clean, and answer questions.

STEAM Explorers

STEAM Explorers is DVAA's suite of educational activities and events that support underserved K-12 children with free art and science programming. DVAA partners with local public schools, after-school programs, and neighborhood associations to bring children to DVAA's galleries to learn about our exhibitions, play in Palumbo Park and participate in art making. Volunteers are needed to help facilitate the field trips, guide the children in art-related lessons, and be an extra set of hands to the students teachers. If you are comfortable around kids, this is definitely the program for you!

Artist Workshops

Throughout the year DVAA regularly runs free workshops for artists of all ages and abilities to create artwork in collaboration with exhibiting artists and partnering organizations. These workshops usually take place either in DVAA galleries or at Palumbo Park. Volunteers are needed to help set up, break down, and manage these events.

Art Programming for Seniors

Throughout the year DVAA regularly runs free workshops at senior centers and assisted living communities around Philadelphia. Elders in these facilities benefit from art activities that lift spirits and keep aging minds sharp. Volunteers are needed to help facilitate these events and work directly with seniors.
