“Life experiences and history fascinate me and learning about someone’s journey allows you to appreciate the obstacles and challenges they have overcome.”

A proud immigrant from Honduras, Carolina moved to the United States as a young child and enjoyed a wonderful upbringing in a southern New Jersey home. She attended Rutgers Honors College and Rutgers Law before practicing corporate law for a decade. After transitioning into high-profile government leadership positions, Carolina was appointed CEO of Congreso de Latinos Unidos, one of the nation’s top Latinx-focused non-profits. She currently serves on the Kimmel Center Board of Directors and on the Pennsylvania delegation to the United States Global Advisory Commission, among many other commitments. Her beloved parents, siblings, husband, children, and step children motivate her to be a better person as she continues to learn and achieve.

Where do art and your discipline meet?

“Discipline to me is about keeping sustained focus and energy. An ability to endure and produce the ultimate outcome. I imagine art requires a focus very similar, alongside creativity is the discipline of a vision and an ability to make it come to life by your energy, focus and endurance.”

Who are your local heroes?

“My local heroes are my family! Each family member from my parents and siblings, to my husband and my children each have an amazing journey and story to tell. Life, experiences and history fascinate me and learning about someone's journey allows you to appreciate the obstacles and challenges they have overcome. Their spirit and souls inspire me to be a better person and continue to learn and achieve.“
