About the exhibition:

A transition is a connection. Across time. Between moments. Through dimensions. As an artist, Paulo Corrêa-Meyer attempts to connect all his wide and well-ranging creative forays. Poetry. Music. The Digital. The Physical. The past and present world surrounding him. With Transitions, Corrêa-Meyer’s compositions boldly convey the long history of his intertwining interests, exploring the endless possibilities that arise when one embraces the fluidity of creativity and the seamless interplay between different realms of artistic expression.

Transitions: Paulo Corrêa-Meyer Solo Exhibition will be on view on the 5th floor of Atria Center City and is unfortunately not open to visitors. The work, however, will be for sale through our website and a walkthrough video tour will be made available once the exhibition is installed.

ABOUT THE Artist:

Paulo Corrêa-Meyer is an emerging digital artist who lives and works in Wayne,Pennsylvania. A native of Porto Alegre, Brazil, he creates art that reflects what isgoing on around him, choosing designs and colors to reflect his feelings at the time.

Corrêa-Meyer was educated to become a physician and began practicingOphthalmology in Brazil. Then, in 1980, he moved his young family to theUnited States and established a solo practice. During the two years that it would take for the revalidation of his medical license to practice in the US, he attended a semester at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. That led him to experiment with oil paint and printer's rolls as he created art on canvas. The resulting works showed multiple serendipitous effects that were elicited by his poetic thinking while painting. The images captured the movement, the rhythm, the energy, and the colors of his native country.

Following his retirement in 2020, Corrêa-Meyer searched for a medium thatwould provide more flexibility with form, movement, and color and allow himto craft images that evoke an immediate reaction. Although he uses his artto chronicle current events, he likes to interject humor when it isappropriate. He settled on digital art as his means of self-expression and, along with his poetry, Corrêa-Meyer creates moments that tell his story andshare his experiences.
