Their journey into editorial and portrait photography began four years ago, initially focusing on self-portraits as a means of self-discovery. Over time, Sequoia's work evolved to accentuate and frame the unique beauty in others. They thrive on crafting concepts in sets and moments in time, immersing themselves in the distinctive ambience each subject brings to a photograph.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Driven by a passion sparked during their academic art courses at the University of Pittsburgh, Sequoia has spent the past four years immersed in the art of portrait and editorial photography. Their work intricately weaves fashion, makeup, and color theory together, capturing the vibrant spectrum of human expression and experience. Through their lens, Sequoia explores the interplay between the body and its surroundings, uncovering meaning and beauty through the essence of people.
