About the exhibition:

DVAA is honored to host Reverence, a solo exhibition by Candy Alexandra González for the Linda Lee Alter Fellowship. Through a series of altars, Reverence honors fatness, queerness, brownness and body healing. Each artwork alludes to a specific body and geographic location where Candy experienced both trauma and healing. Adorned with handmade paper flowers, candles, cinnamon, honey, herbs, sand, fabrics and other offerings, this exhibit invokes the power of Candy’s ancestors. Reverence by Candy Alexandra González is act of radical self love; a radical act of love for fat, brown and queer bodies.

Reverence will be on view in Gallery 1 at Da Vinci Art Alliance beginning August 1st and will be available as a video walkthrough shortly after.
