About:
I am an artist exploring feminine identity, collective unconsciousness and the state of nature.
Educated at Tyler school of art, I employ a variety of media in my work. Printmaking techniques and alternative photographic methods such as the Cyanotype process are important elements of my artistic vision. Primordial stories and symbols inform my subject matter.
I consider Philadelphia my home although I currently live and work in Kimberton PA, just outside the city in beautiful Chester county. My husband, children and I share our lives with a variety of animals on an ethereally beautiful biodynamic farm.
Artist Statement:
Color, form and light are integral components of my work. I seek to create art that is reminiscent of the way we might remember any object, scene or person we have not seen in a period of time. Some elements might become fuzzy, such as the small details in a person’s face - the exact colors of a sunset. However, the temporal things are what we remember most. The heat of the sun on a summer day, the silhouette of the tall weeds of a meadow against the dying light at sunset; these are the parts we remember and can almost feel and touch even years after any given day
