2025 Exhibition Proposals
Deadline to submit: August 15th
Da Vinci Art Alliance is now accepting proposals for our 2025 exhibitions calendar. The DVAA Exhibitions Committee seeks to create an ambitious collection of thought-provoking exhibitions over the course of the year. Proposals will be selected by the quality of their application and supporting materials, artistic merit, social/community programming, and diversity of curatorial perspectives. All proposals will be reviewed by our Exhibitions Committee and DVAA staff. Selected applicants will then be offered exhibition time slots based on their availability and DVAA’s programming schedule.
Applicants may submit as individuals or as groups and are encouraged to activate the gallery space in any variety of mediums and methodologies. Solo or group exhibitions, performances, large-scale installations, screenings, curatorial projects, interactive programming, and ideas of all kinds are welcome, as long as they are within the capability of the Gallery. Exhibition proposals are accepted from all DVAA members in good standing. If you aren’t a member yet and would like to submit, click here.
Any questions can be directed to DVAA Gallery Director Veronica Cianfrano (veronica@davinciartalliance.org).
Gallery Space Floor Plans:
Keep in mind that Gallery 1 is very large. DVAA usually recommends a group or curated exhibition in this space. Gallery 2 is much smaller and great for solo exhibitions. Make sure to stop by the Gallery to see both spaces in person, to get a sense of which one works best for your proposal.
Additional Information
No More Rental Fees:
Committed to creating as accessible a space as possible for all, DVAA has eliminated any associated gallery rental fees.
Application support:
We work to assist our members with a variety of backgrounds and interests to submit the best proposals possible. DVAA staff is available to support with technology barriers, language barriers, curatorial consultations and even pairing artists to submit small group exhibitions. Please reach out with any hesitations or questions. We recently hosted a Creative Conversations where DVAA staff and members went over what makes a good exhibitions proposal. Watch the program by clicking here or click the button at the top of the page to review proposal tips and examples.
Comminuty programming:
In addition to showcasing the work of our Artist Members, DVAA’s exhibitions are a vital source of our community programming. We expect all exhibitions to engage with our larger community by including one or more free public events that relate to the exhibition’s content. In the past these events have included film screenings, a collaborative project, poetry readings, DIY art workshops, panel discussions, field trips, and more. Preference is given to proposals that aim to engage the community throughout the exhibition’s installment.
Closing Reception:
Our closing receptions are a monthly gathering in person to discuss the current exhibitions up at DVAA which takes place on the last Sunday of each exhibition. Each session presents an opportunity for the larger DVAA community to give constructive feedback to staff and artists alike and expand their own critical lens. If selected for an exhibition, we highly encourage the artists on view to participate in this program. Additionally, during the closing receptions, the current artist in residence holds an open studio for people to visit them on the third floor.
