DVAA Merch Design Call!
Calling all DVAA Members!
This Holiday season the first time ever we’ll be launching … DVAA Merch! How exciting!! Now, this is where you come in. We thought it’d be a great idea to call upon our extremely talented artist members for the first ever design. And, even if you don’t submit to our design call, you can still participate. We’ll be taking it to a community vote!
What is DVAA looking for?
A one color design that will be silk screened onto a white cotton t-shirt (oil based ink and then heat set). We’ll be sourcing and printing with Do It Now T-Shirts. Only one submission per member.
what’s the prompt?
Glad you asked! We at DVAA are an intergenerational artist collaborative that provides access to art as a means to support and connect the community. How do you as a member see “Art as Community Care”? This is a broad statement and prompt. Interpret it as you wish! Have fun with it!!
We encourage participants to submit pre-existing work, or if you’re looking for a challenge… create something new! Incorporating DVAA’s logo/name is optional. Artists will retain the copyright to their work.
Why Submit A Design?
Beyond your beautiful design being featured on a gorgeously crafted Do It Now silk screened shirt, the winner will get 10% of all T-shirt profits and you’ll be prominently featured and credited in the entire marketing campaign.
Do I need to be a DVAA Member to submit?
Yes! Though if you’re not, you can always sign-up to become a member. And in case you didn’t know, we’re a sliding scale membership. No one is ever turned away from a membership because of lack of funds. Become a member here!
When do I need to submit my design by?
The call for designs will be open through Monday, September 30. We’ll bring it to a community vote the first week of October!
