Bill acquired much of his art education from independent study, augmented over the years with instruction, artist’s workshops and studio classes. He has exhibited work in Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, featured in group shows at the Da Vinci Art Alliance, Tyler School of Art, John H. Baker Gallery at West Chester University, Cheltenham Center for the Arts, Community Art Center in Wallingford, Perkins Center for the Arts, Goggleworks, Banana Factory, Philadelphia City Hall , Belmar Arts Center and Main Line Arts Center; in 2018 he had his first duo show and in January 2020 his first solo show.

Artist Statement:

“I have had the privilege to live a very eclectic, some would say, colorful life. It has provided me with many wonderful experiences, the opportunity to see many places and meet all kinds of people. The one common denominator I have found is the innate love and desire of beauty by all. Having lived long enough and seen certain unflattering aspects of life, I am committed to contributing beauty to the world.
Beauty can be found all around us in everyday life, if we look long enough, and hard enough. It isn’t always easy and it isn’t always obvious, but often appears in the most unexpected ways. My paintings are often derived from the internal thoughts, feelings and emotions evoked by beauty. Rather than convey this beauty in a conventional, representational form, I reference music, dreams, memories, nature and artistic influences for inspiration, and attempt to convey the beauty and my joy in the abstract, via color, shape, texture, mark making and space. I leave it to every individual to view and interpret the images through their own personal lens. ”
