Landscapes from Memory
Solo exhibit at Atria Center City, by Robert Solomon
Exhibition Runs: January 27th - March 22nd
About the exhibition:
Derived from photographs taken during walks through his farming community in Greenwich New Jersey, Landscapes from Memory by Robert Solomon combines his proclivity for nature and abstraction. Robert carefully studies the 2D images for shadows, shapes and color that help in developing his broad stylistic palette. By developing techniques that approximate the qualities of watercolor on paper to acrylic on canvas, these landscape paintings have an atmospheric effect that beautifully represent his environment.
Landscapes from Memory will be on view at Atria Center City beginning January 27th, and will be on view until March 22nd. The exhibit will be on view in the Art Gallery on the 5th floor, which can be enjoyed by residents and staff.
About the Artist:
Robert Solomon uses photography and drawing as components of painting to help in formal aspects and choice of color. He likes to comment on culture and using photographs can isolate the 2D aspects of an image.
“My paintings speak to my lifelong interest in almost all forms of art and culture. Its just that I decided to make painting my chosen field.”
