Winter's Poem for Spring
Solo Exhibition by Scott Vradelis IN GALLERY 2 @ DVAA
Exhibition Runs: March 9th - March 30th
About the exhibition:
Upon viewing Winter’s Poem for Spring, you are visiting a group of paintings by Scott Vradelis that came to him as a visual poem. For Scott, painting can sometimes be congruent with poetry. A quiet, nearly hidden form of story-telling. A passing of information that gently asks the viewer, “consider it this way”. Winter’s Poem for Spring invites you to give a moment or two to enjoy the light of a room, consider the relationship of the forms between themselves and you, take note of how you respond to them, and to engage in a bit of quiet meditation before you go on your way.
A Winter’s Poem for Spring will be on view in Gallery 2 beginning March 9th, and will be available as a video walkthrough shortly after. Join us at Da Vinci Art Alliance for the opening reception on March 10th from 12-7pm.
About the artist:
Scott Vradelis has a formal education in fine arts, earning an MFA from Carnegie Mellon, then living and working in New York and Brooklyn for 18 years as a painter. Since moving to Elkins Park just outside Philadelphia in 2004, he has worked to establish a local business, has helped his wife raise three children, and now is continuing to paint. He has studied a broad range of subjects on his own over the years including particle physics, chaos theory, aesthetics, archetypal psychology, many aspects of painting from multiple traditions, and for the past five years devoted much time to learning ideas and practices of early buddhism. He considers painting to be an integral aspect of his life.
