Rayne Bingham

About:

My name is Rayne Bingham, I often use the art handle WMN Behind VZN when labeling my artistry. I am originally from Camden, NJ but now I reside in Philadelphia, PA. Currently my main artistic practice is photography. I believe much like films photos have a way of conveying truths we often hope to hide or ignore. Candid images have a way of captivating truths and telling powerful stories. I aim to share those intimate truths through mostly black and white imagery.

Aside from photography I do many handmade crafts involving various materials to express and advocate for many issues within the world and communities I am personally connected to. Most of my handmade crafts consists of apparel, jewelry , sublimation designs and more. I believe art to be the loudest form of expression with no limitations and complete freedom.

My educational background encompasses different realms adjacent from traditional art degrees such as a BS in Broadcast Journalism from Bloomfield College, MS in Art Administration from Drexel University and soon a MBA with a focus on Project Management from Drexel University.

Artist Statement:

In my art, I find comfort in expressing the hardships of my people. Through different mediums of art like hand made crafts, written word, and photography I aim to continue to raise awareness and tell the stories of those around me, myself included. In doing so offer different perspectives and finding joy in amplifying the voices and the stories of those often overlooked.
