About:
I am a spiritual seeker and shamanistic artist specializing in fiber art and repurposing materials. I made my own custom clothing since I was a teenager and have been creating one of a kind necklaces that carry good energy since the nineties. My work with wrapping branches for my transformational branch garden evolved after my youngest sister’s death by suicide. My goal is to bring new life to discarded items and to help people look in new ways in order to access deeper consciousness and perhaps transformation. Originally a speech pathologist, I had remarkable results healing others. Many illnesses and personal trauma prompted me to find my own paths to heal. That journey is facilitated by artistic self expression. I am not commercially oriented and am self taught.
Artist Statement:
My work is rooted In transformation - of materials and of self. Guided by meditation and chant , I create as an open vessel for divine inspiration, weaving together natural and recycled elements, shamanistic practice and personal history. Influenced by nature and the elements and the urgency of environmental change, my pieces often serve as talismans for blessing, healing and empowerment. For me, art is both a flow state and a spiritual practice- a way to unearth hidden treasures of the soul and bring them into light
