Krisha Heckman (he/him) Is an abstract artist who is inspired from traditional oriental art styles. grauated. from. Kutztown university . and. has been. living in Philadelphia for the past 3 years. He is also practicing as a formal student at. Soji Zen Center for the past 2 years.
Artist Statement:
My work approaches different ways on how to tackle buddhist discussion of suffering . It inform on how our perception and mental formation that is that develop to handle .The work expresses this sense through emptiness , or subtle sense of impermanence in its abstraction, space, spontaneously it also focus on life and ideas are forms of suffering and that art is a way of developing acceptance .As a form of speech is grounded in styles and line work from asian ink masters including , Fan Kuan, Tung Hsien , Wang Meng . But, life is mainly groundless and so largely based on my meditation and samadhi (concentration ) . My background is mainly Zen buddhism. So it directly focuses on simply investigating and practicing than conceptionaly concept of self .. Art is all about self .
