About:
Jasmine Lynea is an artist whose work explores the fluid spaces between truth and myth. A Temple University alum, Jasmine crafts vibrant, boundary-pushing stories that bring unconventional ideas to the forefront. As a 2022 BlackStar Filmmaker Lab fellow, Jasmine wrote and directed the fantasy sci-fi short The Love Machine, which premiered at BlackStar Film Festival and has since captivated audiences at festivals and art exhibitions. In 2023, Jasmine’s work earned them fellowships and grants from Mural Arts, Velocity Fund, and Flaherty’s Queer-World Mending program. Supported by People’s Media Fund and Scribe Video Center, Jasmine is continuing their art practice, exploring painting and performance.
