About:
Jamie DeAngelis received a Bachelor’s of Studio Art from Rosemont College (2008), where she unlocked her love of iconography, papermaking, bookmaking, and the pop art vibes of printmaking. Since receiving a Master’s of Science in Arts Administration at Drexel University, she has been inspired by Philly’s arts & culture scene while working and volunteering with organizations like Main Line Art Center, Fleisher Art Memorial, Warrior Writers, DaVinci Art Alliance, and Cassie’s Craft Coven.
Artist Statement:
Jamie DeAngelis is a Philadelphia-based mixed media artist creating vibrant works with second-hand materials. Her process conveys an uplifting message that beauty can be found in the mundane and that the creative process is just as important as the final product. Her work is characterized by the use of bright colors and absurd assemblage that bring vitality to old advertisements and print materials.
