About the exhibition:

Kate Suchan and Stephanie Manzi are, in many ways, two very different painters. Yet both works understand and consider the delegation of space, depth, and color. Suchan’s work presents textural narrative labyrinths, richly weaving dreamlike encounters into form through hazy memory. She suspends disbelief through pigmented scenes of folklore and fauna, permitting viewers to lose themselves within the fantasized landscapes. Manzi’s is a love letter to biological and mathematical patterns, ecology, and color theory, occupying space with abstract and material depth that invites the viewer to think about the symbiotic connection. This duo show is an intersection and mapping of both artists' perspectives–an echo of what is imaginable through collaboration and intercommunication.

How to Map an Echo is an exhibition of contrasting and tangling systems of paintings, proudly presented by Da Vinci Art Alliance. Featuring oil, flashe vinyl, and acrylic paintings of the artists stepping into each other's worlds to speak through form. The show will also feature two collaborative pieces, "We Wish You Well" and "Clinging to Form, a Vine Keeps Crawling,” illustrating the divergent relationship and allowing each artist to employ the use of the other's style.

The exhibition will be on view in Gallery 2 at Da Vinci Art Alliance from June 2nd to June 21st. To pair with the show, Color as Collage, a workshop investigating color theory and pattern work through collage, will take place on Saturday, June 13th, from 1—3 pm.
