Hallucinations & Transformations

A Group EXHIBITION curated by Lia Huntington & The Exhibition Committee

On View Jan 31 to Feb 22 Opening Reception Saturday, January 31 from 5 - 7 pm Closing Reception and Artist Talk Sunday, February 22 from 12 - 2 pm

About the exhibition:

What epiphanies can emerge from your nearest hallucination?  What happens when we shift perspective and question the world we see? Hallucinations and Transformations brings together the work of DVAA members to consider how our personal realities – and the realities we share – can morph, evolve, and transform.

Featuring wide-ranging media, from painting to wood to even nail polish, the artworks in this exhibition will transport the viewer to other perspectives. What hallucinations might you recognize in a winding felted plant? In a painting of a cloud becoming human? Is there any comfort in knowing that you share an abstraction?

Lia Huntington on “Hallucinations and Transformations”

In this show, members probe what can emerge from limina,l unclear states.  The works explore perceptions: how the ways we process our surroundings can shift, the spaces of dreams and imagination, the spaces of distortions and altered perceptions. It presents visions of what can emerge from experiences of confusion and uncertainty.”
