About:

"Diana Gruberg’s work spans visual art, design, geography, and horticulture. Her artistic practice explores the connections between the body and the landscape through the passage of time, how beauty is seen and felt in rhythm with the natural world, and how life persists. Her work in the public realm centers on urban ecosystems and the people who sustain them.

Diana is interested in how three components of human ecology take shape: the overlapping connections that comprise an ecosystem and how cycles of growth and decay build resiliency; how close observation entrenches landscapes in our psyche; and how we can nurture the impulse for care through stewardship, tending, and awe.

Diana previously served as the Landscape Director at Gowanus Canal Conservancy, engaging the community in creating a resilient, accessible public realm through design, advocacy, and stewardship. She has also worked for the Mural Arts Program, Future Green Studio, Interface Studio, and the New York City Parks Department. She is from Philadelphia, where she currently resides."
