Artist Statement:

In my figurative paintings, I utilize narrative fragmentation and compositional simultaneity to explore cultural constructs of gender roles, femininity, vanity, and consumerism in contemporary life. Using various photographic sources spanning decades, as well as introducing silkscreen patterns to my compositions, I create narratives that question these cultural constructs while allowing room for interpretation. My work often highlights the absurdities of human behavior, playfully critiquing these patterns while simultaneously giving grace to the human condition. Engaging with elements of art history, I aim to reconfigure the gaze in a contemporary female perspective.
