Christian Rodriguez is a Mexican American artist born in the Rio Grande Valley region of South Texas, currently living and working in Philadelphia PA. He received a BFA from the University of Texas Pan American in 2014, where he concentrated in painting and drawing. Christian is interested in exploring emotional, psychological, and social issues through portraits and figures as his primary subject. At times drawing from personal experience, other times commenting on larger societal observations. He uses multimedia in his art practice as he enjoys the interesting ways materials can be integrated and juxtaposed in a work. Since 2011, Christian’s work has been exhibited in group shows in Texas, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. His work is primarily in private collections throughout the United States. In 2023, he had his first solo show titled ‘State of Mind’ in Philadelphia, PA.
