Through learning and practicing a simple form of bead weaving, the two-hour beginner level workshop will highlight the cultural depth embedded in small, labor-intensive objects. By situating it within the exhibition space of “Precious Protection,” participants will be immersed among the artworks, while actively creating tiny pendants from their own imagination.
These pendants act as symbolic vessels for intention, emotion, and memory, and can be worn as a jewelry piece or charm on hair and clothing. The session aims to shift the attendees from passive viewers into active makers, deepening the exhibition’s exploration of protection through communal ritual. Participants are encouraged to focus on absorbing the process of making and personal reflection, rather than on how many they can make.
