Transported

A group Exhibition in GALLERY 2 @ DVAA

Exhibition Runs: June 29th - July 20th

About the exhibition:

Artists Nancy Gordon, Daniel Neufeld and Joann Neufeld come together in a collective appreciation of planes, trains, and automobiles in their exhibition, Transported. Through the exhibit, each artist documents the drama of movement and the charm of industrial design by altering colors, exaggerating reflections, and layering shapes so that the viewer recognizes the excitement and beauty inherent in machines. After a year of immobility, motion and travel represent the renewed sense of freedom we all have been missing.

Transported will be on view in Gallery 2 at Da Vinci Art Alliance beginning June 29th, and will be available as a video walkthrough shortly after. Join us for the opening reception of the exhibit on June 30th, from 4-7pm.

About the artists:

Joann Neufeld is an artist and educator, a graduate of Tyler School of Art who spent 40 years teaching in the Philadelphia and New Hope-Solebury School Districts. Determined to share her observational skills and respect for surprising aesthetic examples, Joann draws and paints with an understanding of art history as well as contemporary practices. She currently teaches at Temple University’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Her work has recently been exhibited locally.

Daniel Neufeld uses direct observation, travel photographs, and his spirit of perseverance to create a world filled with color, fantasy, music, and positive thinking. Attracted to trains at a very young age, Daniel used the movement and the reliability to focus his attention and invigorate his expectations through painting, drawing, and printmaking. He is forever creating, noticing the world around him, and building relationships to his art through mindful thinking. He is a regular Art ability exhibitor and in local venues. Daniel is also an artist and traveling companion with his artist mother/collaborator Joann.

Nancy Gordon has had the pleasure of a long and meandering career. She majored in Fashion Design at Moore College of Art and Design. Her career and life took her on a different path, and she began to explore painting. Nancy enjoys taking classes at Fleisher Art Memorial, PAFA, and Wayne Art Center. She has participated in several Student Shows, both at Fleisher and Wayne Art Center, winning prizes in Drawing, Figure, and Abstract painting over the years.
