Sivia Braunstein

About:

Sivia’s art journey began early within an energetic and large family where art, music and good food were integral. Her Family drew the animals in the zoo together, created papier-mâché sculptures in the dining room, and eventually drew together at Fleisher. In ‘Sivia’s first year of local college, her evening coquis teacher at Fleisher convinced her to study at PAFA. Eventually she made her way to Jerusalem where she studied and experienced new surroundings and new cultures.

”I have been. fortunate to have painted in beautiful plein air experiences and I have had the joy to paint Still life with the peonies and roses of my own garden. Each painting leads me to seek out the next. I have shown my paintings in group shows, had a one man show in Philadelphia and have won several prices.”

Artist Statement:

My paintings invite viewers to explore the ambiguous space and color of the everyday world. I draw from patterns,, places and objects , deconstructing and reassembling the parts to reveal the energy and harmony of the whole.
My intention is to look beyond the obvious to uncover expressions. within the source. I interpret relationships between geometry, space, value, and color. Beginning with observation, my painting examines the fine line between realism and abstraction.
