Artist Statement:

In my preferred method of oil painting, I practice my deep exploration of the medium through quick applications of rich, saturated color. The physical process of my brush strokes is an agitated and deliberate one. My pieces allow me to capture movement in light and color, bordering on restlessness, as well as apply a drawing-based approach to painting. In my more personal work, I take advantage of colorful acrylic underpaintings, creating a dreamy blur around the subject matter. Ultimately, I work to make pieces reflecting inner turmoil and deeply felt psychological feelings connected to gender identity, drag, reflection, and self acceptance.
