Jake Weiss is a painter/draftsman from the Philadelphia area. He got his BFA from PAFA in 2022 and has been actively working in the art community since. Jake is an artist that obsesses over material and detail, and finds that the immediate world around him is what inspires his work.

Artist Statement:

My work has always been about material and space, and creating a narrative that lives within that space. I get excited about creating concepts that have a greater conversation than just the work itself, and strive to pour all my energy into what I do. I have been working on a series of works that focus primarily on a conversation about mental health, and how our environments and online presences can strongly impact how we view ourselves. I want to break away from the normal observational practices my skills were forged in to create works that incorporate influences from online imagery and present a different head-space for viewers to live in.
